MAJOR BENEFICIAL WAYS IN DEALING WITH CRIME IN MAJOR CITIES.

Hello my dear reader, today we are going to look at some of the ways we as citizens in conjunction with the government, can adopt to fight against crime majorly in major cities and towns. Crime rates have been high and there has been an increase in criminal activities in these cities and towns. This calls for all of us to take part in the fight and eradicate this acts for good. It’s our aim and our desire for all of us to live peacefully amongst each other without any fear of being robbed, loosing our property as well as loosing our dear lives too. Isn’t it? 

I believe our collective efforts can bear fruits in the long run and together we can live peacefully.

Here are some of the key ways which can be implemented in the fight against crime:

. Provision of job opportunities for the youth.

 The youth make up the greater number of the population and since most of them are unemployed, they opt to engage in criminal activities so as to cater for their daily needs . Through provision of jobs to these youth , these crime cases will decrease greatly . The government, NGOs and private institutions owned by citizens may take part in provision of jobs. It’s a collective activity. The success of this initiative calls for solidarity and commitment to the course by each and every stakeholder.

. Formulation of strict policies and procedures fighting against criminal acts.

 Policies and procedures guiding against these criminal acts should be formulated . The good thing about these policies/laws is that they are applicable to everyone so those who go against them should be punished severely. This will discourage criminals from taking part in these criminal activities hence we’ll all have to live peacefully and without any fear. Fines should be introduced to all minor criminals whereas jail terms introduced to the major criminals . These seclusion period helps criminals reflect on their activities. More so, they are taught on how they can generate their own income as well as living with others peacefully. So when they are out, they are able to generate their own money which is crime free hence we all live in peace.

. Affordable housing for all ; mostly for the low income earners.

 Housing in major cities is a mega issue which need to be addressed. Food and clothing might be a little bit favourable and affordable but in terms of rent, there’s where the major issue arises. The inability to afford the rent majorly to the poor and the low income earners who make up the greater number of the population, pushes them in engaging in criminal activities so that they can cater for the rent. No one would love sleeping outside mostly to the families with kids . And since most of them are unemployed or get little wages , the only option they remain with is just engaging in criminal activities.

So if the issue on housing may be looked at, most people, majorly the poor, the less fortunate and the low income earners will be able to afford paying the rent and affording their daily bread hence they’ll negate engaging in criminal activities and thus we’ll all be able to live peacefully amongst each other without any fear.

. Favourable government policies.

 If the government policies were a bit friendly to all, majorly the poor, criminal activities will decrease to a large extent. For example in terms of taxation, if the poor were lowly taxed , most of the little money they earn will help them cater for their basic needs . But when they are highly taxed , most of their little earnings will be deducted hence they have less money to cater for their endless needs . Hence, lower tax burdens imposed on the poor will be a major factor in reduction of these crime rates in major cities and towns. 

 . Provision of vocational courses too will provide these people with relevant skills and knowledge which they can apply in the job market to generate their own income. This will help reduce criminal activities greatly.
