 CAMPUS LIFE

It is the dream of every high school student to join campus after accomplishment of their high school

studies. Is this the best possible decision to make ? Well let’s look at some of the experiences elaborated

below.

Frankly speaking, being one of the campus students, at first there’s anxiety due to the separation I had

between me and my family. It literally was one of the toughest decision I had to make then, quite

hilarious ; having done my high school studies in a day school. But the anxiety fades away as time goes

by.

Meeting new people and friends too is quite phenomenal. All originating from diverse cultures . So

learning about their origins and cultures has greatly helped me develop positive perceptions of their

cultures and traditions.

Adapting to the new environment too is quite hard due to difference in the climatic changes. But later

on you’ll find the environmental change quite serene and conducive. I have to say, I’ve really enjoyed

being in a new place. Amazing.

More so, new places mostly where you are alone assist one to generate new ideas ; money making

ideas, as well as having a good understanding about yourself, your aspirations and goals.

I’ll have to admit, life here is not that simple after all . Many campus students usually join the institution

as so called ' holy’ and later on end up destroying themselves. Peer pressure being the major cause .

Alcohol and other substance abuse creates a major hindrance for the students to undertake their

studies effectively. Note, not all students fall prey to the increased peer pressure. Life here is all about

knowing what you came to do bearing in mind you’ll not be there for long . Many students loose their

focus on the way and some even end up terminating their studies doe to early pregnancies and more so

substance use and addiction . My advice for the new students joining campus is for you to just fully

focus on the main objective you had before joining the institution. It’s not punishable to have a little fun

but it’s good to comprehend that too much of something is poisonous in the long run.

Government involvement in providing loans to campus students have facilitated the ease of learning for

all students. Every campus student regardless of their background are now able to access education

quite well as these government funds are disbursed fairly to all students without any favouritism. Many

students are now able to cater for their daily needs easily as well as paying for their school fees.

In terms of studies, personal effort is crucial as students are expected to deliver good results. Those who

fail are disallowed to move to the next level . Even though they have to proceed, they’ll have to pay for

them to repeat their failed tests and Incase a student fails more tests, he/she will have to repeat the

whole academic year . So, aside from too much freedom in campus , time management is of great

importance.

Unlike high school, there’s much freedom in campus . No one is in charge of you , class attendance is

almost not mandatory, you eat whenever you want, wake up any time you want and do anything you

want provided that it’s legal. But as I said earlier, everything has consequences and too much of

something is poisonous. So students need to manage time well at all times and negate any negative

influence and crime related activities.In a nut shell, life here is pretty good. Probably the best school life. Quite an adventure too accompanied

by ups and downs too but all in all , personal effort, focus and commitment is all that counts.

It might be a life changing learning experience and also you might end up destroying the rest of your

school life by just committing a slight mistake . Cheating in exams is fatal as you risk being suspended for

two years out of the institution. High levels of integrity and accountability are highly expected from

students in campus. Failure to this , the consequences may greatly affect a students life in the

institution.
