Hello reader, today I’ll be taking you through some of the major ways the government has adopted in dealing with the increase in the number of people residing in slums. There are a couple of slums in the country and most of them currently are Soo crowded. So many people reside in those areas most of them being either refugees while others are majorly made up of the homeless and orphans. And recently there has been an increase in the number of people in these slums therefore , this has led to more deteriorated living conditions within these slums. Hence the government had or has to come up with ways in dealing with this mega issue. Some of the major and crucial ways adopted by the government in dealing with these increasingly high number of people living in slums, are elaborated below:

. Proper and affordable housing.

 Through these approach , more people will be able to afford these houses. It is evident that majorly those houses in major cities are costly and unaffordable to the lower income earning people . And through this, most lower income earning citizens end up being unable to afford hence they end up being homeless in the long run. Homelessness drives them in joining these slums since most of the houses provided there are more affordable due to there deteriorated conditions. Therefore through proper and affordable housing provided, most of these people will be able to afford renting these houses. Hence there will be a reduction in the increasing number of people living in slums. 

. Provision of job opportunities.

 Most of the people who end up living in these slums are jobless hence if the number of the jobless people keeps on increasing, there will be an increase in the number of people living in these slums. Therefore through provision of job opportunities by the government, more people mostly those living in these slums will be employed hence will be able to generate income . Through income generation, they’ll now be able to afford better housing as well as affording their daily needs. Hence the number of people living in these slums will decline greatly.

. Reducing rural to urban migration.

 Most people join these cities in such of greener pastures but most of them end up being jobless at the end of the day hence being jobless, they will be unable to afford their daily needs therefore they end up being homeless in the long run. To afford owning a place to shelter on, most of them opt to live in these slums hence through this, the number of people living in slums has increased greatly. Therefore to cope with this situation, the government may opt to limit the rural to urban migrations. It may seem irrelevant to many but it will be a good approach to benefit the many. People who may opt to live in these major cities should provide a clear reason and purpose as to why they opt to live in these cities. Their financial status too may provide a relevant data too in evaluating their chances of surviving in these cities. Through this approach, many of these people who might end up residing in these slums might be greatly saved thus there will be a reduction in the number of people living in these slums.

. Through financial assistance.

 Since most of these people living in slums or who end up living in slums are financially unstable , the government may opt to provide financial assistance to them. This might be in terms of financial aid where each family is given a certain lamp sum to cater for their housing , the transport costs incurred as they migrate to other better areas ,as well as catering for their daily needs . It might be even more ,so they may even opt to start a business to generate income so as to sustain their daily needs as well as improving their standards of living. Financial assistance also may be in terms of providing loans withlow interest to these people. Through this , most of might end up generating their own income from the business they set up from this money they obtain. Hence they’ll be able to afford proper housing and thus the increasing number of people living in slums will decline greatly.

In a nutshell, reducing this increasingly high number of people lining in these slums is very possible if this major ways may be adopted and implemented effectively.
